Hello again everyone, it has been some time since our last update, sure hope everyone’s winter is going well!
We continue to make progress on the site, although it is slower than we would have hoped. As you can see in the attached pictures, the site is entirely cleared and it is very interesting to see the view lines and the expanse of the site. The weather has been our biggest enemy of late. The site is very wet right now. The type of work that the schedule currently dictates requires deep trenching for services and solid footings for the grading work required. The difference in elevation from the highest point in the park to the lowest point is approximately 60′, as a result of the grading work to make all of the individual site level is critically important.
Below is a current rendering of the main common facility, designed facilitate group events and to include indoor and covered outdoor seating to accommodate approximately 60 people, as well as laundry facilities, washrooms/ showers, and the main office. As most of you know, we have included a swimming pool adjacent to the main building, we will also include hot tubs for year round use. We have also included a pickleball court and will have equipment available for those new to the game. An interesting aspect of our design is that there is a spectacular unfinished log cabin on site that we have acquired and are intending to re-purpose to serve as one of our common facilities, some current pictures of that cabin are attached.
Based on our most recent discussions with our contractor, our most likely timeline to get the first phase open, comprising of approximately 102 units, is late summer. We expect the second phase, which includes the units allocated to park model homes, is expected to be ready for occupancy spring 2020. We certainly hope that this timeline does not dramatically inconvenience anyone, trust us, we are pushing to have the park open as soon as possible, we can’t wait to see the finished product and share it with everyone.
With respect to site selection and more formally securing sites, our plan is to open up to take modest refundable deposits commencing in early March, with anyone who has their deposit in prior to the end of April will secure their position on the waiting list. After the deposit period, we will then go through those that have provided a deposit in chronological order of their initial interest to complete the application and to reserve specific sites. We believe this is the fairest process.
We will publish the rental rates, as well as the proposed rules and regulations for the site on the website soon and certainly prior to opening up to deposits.
